MFE’s advertising revenue in Italy stagnates in the first half
MILAN, June 30 (Reuters) – Advertising revenue in Italy for the commercial broadcaster MediaForEurope (MFE) MFEA.MI, MFEB.MI will only be stable in the first six months of the year, said the head of the group’s advertising unit.
Another executive said last month that revenue should be in positive territory in the first half. Mediaset previously targeted 1% growth for the full year.
“We see the first half more or less flat, or something close to that,” said Stefano Sala, managing director of Publitalia.
Sala pointed out that the market in June did not perform as well as in the same month last year, when it benefited from publicity linked to the European football championship which Italy went on to win.
Sala added that MFE was happy with its deal with sports streaming service DAZN, for which it manages advertising activities related to the Italian Serie A football league.
“We are over €80m in Serie A-related revenue,” he added at an event on Wednesday evening.
