Marco Pierre White is to open a new restaurant on the A38 serving dishes from his Italian heritage
Celebrity chef and TV personality Marco Pierre White is to open a new restaurant on the A38. Marco’s New York Italian will open its doors at The Gables Hotel in Falfield on the edge of Gloucestershire to food lovers at the end of June.
Once dubbed the first celebrity chef, Marco Pierre White was considered the enfant terrible of the British food scene, the rock’n’roll chef. But those labels belied her incredible talent in the kitchen.
In 1995, at just 33, he became the first British chef to receive three Michelin stars. Such culinary awards for exceptional gastronomy are not easy to obtain.

White went on to nurture the next generation of celebrity chefs, launching another string of stellar careers. Among his proteges were Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal.
Marco’s New York Italian will serve Italian cuisine in Falfield, South Gloucestershire. He will of course be inspired by his Italian heritage and his love for New York.
The restaurant will reflect the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple as well as Marco’s passion for classic, simple and authentic cuisine. Foodies will now be able to enjoy a mix of Italian-inspired dishes and American classics from a menu created personally by Marco.
Anthony Greenidge, General Manager of The Gables, said, “This brand new New York Italian cuisine is perfect for The Gables Hotel. It represents a friendly and relaxed cuisine and an authentic and simple cuisine.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have someone of Marco’s caliber open one of his restaurants here at The Gables. This is excellent news for the hotel and the region.
“This is a hugely exciting addition which we believe will provide a wonderful dining experience and is perfect for the hotel’s stunning location.”
