Launch of Pluto TV in Italy, with Sky as advertising sales partner


The streaming service Pluto TV, operated by ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI), will debut in Italy on October 28.

It will be the country’s first free ad-supported television service (FAST) and will complement Paramount + when the premium streaming service launches in Italy in 2022.

Commenting on the development, Olivier Jollet, senior vice president and general manager of Pluto TV, said: “ViacomCBS is rapidly expanding its global streaming footprint, connecting consumers to a vast library of quality content on free and paid platforms in the world. whole world.

Pluto TV will be available for free wherever Italians broadcast, with no registration required. The service will launch on mobile through iOS and Android, desktop and Smart TV (CTV) devices, such as Samsung Tizen, LG Smart TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Chromecast, and select channels on Samsung TV Plus. Sky Media will be Pluto TV’s conventional advertising business partner in Italy.

Pluto TV will launch with 40 original themed channels and curated across multiple genres, including Movies, TV Series, Reality, Children’s IP, Lifestyle, Crime, and Comedy. Content will include iconic titles from the ViacomCBS library, in addition to titles from over 50 third-party content partners, such as Paramount, Lionsgate, Minerva, KidsMe, Banijay Rights and Cineflix. Additional partners will be announced shortly.

Selected channels available at launch will include Pluto TV Azione, Pluto TV Cinema Italiano, Pluto TV Drama and Pluto TV Real Life. Viewers will also be offered children’s content and comedy, games and extreme sports channels. The offering will continue to expand with new channels added every month.

Pluto TV has over 52 million monthly active users worldwide in 25 countries on three continents.
