Inter step up pursuit of Sassuolo striker Giacomo Raspadori, claim by Italian media
Inter are ready to act for Sassuolo striker Giacomo Raspadori as they seek an alternative to strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
According to FCInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri are expected to focus on young Italian talent in the transfer window as they look to cut costs, and 21-year-old Raspadori does the trick.
With winger Achraf Hakimi getting closer to the start for Paris Saint-Germain, there is less pressure to sell Martinez and he could be retained.
In addition, incoming coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to sanction the sale of Alexis Sanchez as Inter try to take his hefty € 7million salary from the payroll.
As such, Inter are hoping to replace Sanchez with Raspadori and see the young striker as a long-term option, as he is spurred on by Sassuolo’s need to raise funds by selling him or his compatriot Gianluca Scamacca.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are also helped by a strong relationship with Raspadori’s agent Tullio Tinti, especially since he represents Inzaghi and center-back Alessandro Bastoni, who has only signed a new contract at the ‘Inter yesterday.
Inter and Sassuolo also enjoy a positive working partnership and the two clubs could start negotiations on a deal to bring Raspadori to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
