Inter consider move for Edin Dzeko with striker likely to cancel Roma contract, Italian media report

Inter are considering a transfer for Edin Dzeko on a free transfer this summer, according to a report in Italian media.

According to, Dzeko will leave Roma at the end of the season and is in talks with the Giallorossi to terminate his contract (which will expire in 2022).

Inter are among the clubs monitoring the Bosnian’s situation after trying to sign Dzeko two seasons ago, following Antonio Conte’s appointment as head coach.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly interested in signing the 35-year-old to replace Romelu Lukaku if he becomes a free agent.

Dzeko may no longer play every game for a top European side, but he has proven this season that he can still make a difference for 20 to 25 games, the report added.

The outgoing Roma striker would be an ideal option behind Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez in Conte’s attack, for one or two seasons.

Inter will likely need low-cost deals to bolster their squad this summer with the club known for their financial woes.

This is why they are so interested in following the development of the situation between Roma and Dzeko, who could receive partial compensation for his annual salary of 7.5 million euros in the form of an installment.
