eToro signs eight sponsorship contracts in the Italian Premier League

Israeli social trading and multi-asset brokerage firm eToro has entered into another sponsorship deal, this time with Italian top football league Serie A.

The one-year contract, which runs for the upcoming 2021/22 season, will see eToro featured as the official partner of eight clubs. The list of sponsored football teams includes Bologna, Cagliari, Genoa, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Spezia, Udinese, Verona, as well as an LED-only deal with Salernitana.

As part of its sponsorship program, eToro will gain visibility through a range of marketing channels, including LED signs for match days, media backgrounds, tickets and digital rights. The Israeli commercial network has also obtained access to the players’ activities as well as various rights on the social platforms of these Serie A clubs.

Emanuela Manor, Italian Regional Director at eToro comments: “eToro believes that sponsorships are a powerful tool for connecting with the communities at the very heart of a sport. With more people than ever engaged in the capital markets this year, financial education has never been more important. We will work with clubs to make financial markets more accessible, bringing fans closer to the action and educating them to invest. “

eToro is active in the European football market as it has already signed agreements with several leading leagues. Most recently, the company signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with Arsenal Football Club.

eToro has secured the advertising rights to Arsenal’s various online platforms, as well as a presence at Emirates Stadium on match day through advertising on LED perimeter panels and media backgrounds.

Full financial terms have not been officially disclosed, but some industry estimates suggest eToro is expected to pay six figures a year for such luxury. Sports partnerships amounting to $ 10 million are no longer a surprise and no longer a wait at top clubs. Arsenal already have the third-biggest kit deal in the football scene after signing a five-year, $ 391 million contract with sportswear giant Adidas in 2018.

eToro already signs Premier League multi-club agreements with Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Southampton. The Israeli firm, which is gearing up for a catchy $ 10 billion IPO, is also one of European football’s biggest sponsors. Specifically, he has built a strong portfolio of top-tier clubs including Bundesliga clubs RB Leipzig, FC Cologne, FC Union Berlin, VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
