Chelsea offered ideal defender as part of Romelu Lukaku deal
Chelsea are coming to the idea that they will be without Romelu Lukaku next season as the Belgian striker nears a return to Italy. The Blues are ready to send the striker out on loan next season, with former club Inter Milan set to snap up the striker they sold for £97.5m last summer.
He is now keen to leave London after just one season back in England and would be willing to take a pay cut to ensure he can get out, with Chelsea currently in talks with Inter to send him out on loan.
And, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter could even make the deal sweeter for Chelsea by helping them solve one of their own problems in the transfer market and giving them a chance to sign defender Denzel Dumfries. as part of the deal to bring Lukaku back to San Siro.
Inter value Dumfries at around £40million but could let him go for less if it means securing Lukaku’s return. It looks like the two clubs are keen to complete the deal as soon as possible, with the same report suggesting the Belgian will undergo his medical at Inter as early as next week.
